Redesign of fruit Plucker
This was my second Project in IDC. Visited Agricultural college, Dapoli, Maharastra and saw different types of agricultural tools. The fruit plucker was selected for redesigning.

Generally above 10ft farmers climb, stand on a branch and pluck fruits from there. Then they have to hold somewhere with one hand to balance
Design Brief:
To redesign the fruit plucker which is used to get the fruits from the trees to the user. The size of the fruit should be from the range of chiku to mango
Users
Mainly for marginal farmers.
Handling requirement:
Plucking fruits from lower branches also
should be able to do one hand operation
Should not hinder the visibility
Should not get confused with blades orientation.
Should not be difficult to go between the branches.
Operational requirements:
Should be capable of separating the fruit in the bunch
Holding while climbing up
Should be capable of picking the whole bunch together
Emptying the net should be easier.
Other issues
Should not break for small shocks.

Chocolate Dispenser
This is designed for dispensing one chocolate at a time. For the chocolates of size of alphenliebe. The components are simple two piece moulded styrene. The dispensing action happens when u turn it upside down and open the cap. This is a one hand operation only.

Abstraction of armadillo in Bamboo
This project started by exploring different weaving, coiling and other techniques in bamboo. This was to understand how the material behaves. After understanding the characters of the material, armadillo was selected for abstraction. I went exploring various options of abstracting the animal. In the final concept, it is the merging of the armadillo form and the behavior of bamboo. The one thing about bamboo is that it is not like plastic, it cannot be brought to any shape just by forcing. It should be a harmony between the way it behaves and the form we want. My thanks to Prof.A.G.Rao for guiding me through the process
Push latch
Push latch reduces the number of actions to open the window. It is designed for manufacturing also. all components are made from two piece injection molding including the spring also.
